The moose who laid the Fabrege egg.
Once upon a time, there was a moose who laid an egg. not just any egg, but a Fabrege egg. It was a very fine egg trimmed with gold, jewels, and rarities the world has never seen. The problem is since it was a moose that laid the egg, it was a rather large egg. As you would expect all the other moose were very jealous of the egg saying things like, "She is such a showoff.", and "Who does she think she is?", and finally, "Why can't she have a live birth like the rest of us?" Well since she was scorned by the herd, the egg laying moose and her proud hubby moved to the edge of the woods. She sat and sat on the egg waiting for it to hatch. Now you must understand that the moose had never heard of the goose who laid the golden egg. She had no idea that her egg was valuable and not a moose. So she sat and sat and sat slicing her rear-end on all the jewels making things rather uncomfortable. Discouraged that her egg did not hatch and that her bum was sore, she vowed that she would never lay an egg again. Well as you would expect, the egg is lost to history. One has to wonder how history would have been changed if grand-mamma moose had read Aesop's Fables to baby moose. Maybe we would be visiting her egg in the Smithsonian making momma moose very proud indeed!
